Fame is the original soundtrack of the 1980 Academy Award and Golden Globe-winning film Fame starring Irene Cara, Lee Curreri, Paul McCrane and Laura Dean. The original score was composed by Michael Gore. The score won the Academy Award for Best Music - Original Score. It was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Score, the BAFTA Award for Best Film Music and a Grammy Award. The songs "Out Here on My Own" and "Fame" were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Song, with the latter one winning the award.
