Fiftysomething and still clueless, Leo Spivak (Peter Riegert) is drifting through life without a compass. Meanwhile, his father’s gravely ill, his teenage daughter is rebelling, his protégé at work is after his job, his wife (Isabella Rossellini) is losing her patience, and his own patience and judgment are sinking fast. Can Leo ride out this storm or is he all washed up? It’s going to take a bizarre twist of fate and some twisted wisdom from a “freelance rabbi” (Eric Bogosian) to help Leo navigate the murky waters of middle age and turn his midlife crisis into a midlife opportunity.
