Le jour de ses vingt ans, Fania Feiner reçoit une carte de souhaits en forme de coeur dans laquelle lui sont adressés toutes sortes de voeux. En d'autres temps et en d'autres lieux, la chose aurait été banale. Mais Fania Feiner est alors, comme celles qui ont contribué à la réalisation de la carte, emprisonnée à Auschwitz, le tristement célèbre camp de concentration nazi. Une fois en possession du cadeau, Fania le conserve, au péril même de sa vie. Aujourd'hui, ce petit morceau d'humanité est exposé au Centre commémoratif de l'Holocauste de Montréal.
