From the Studio When secretary Liza Raines (Lucy Jenner) becomes deaf after a shooting in a robbery, is evicted and later she is found by the social assistant Grant Kane living in her car. Grant brings Liza to a Transition Shelter to be rehabilitated, and she accepts to be submitted to an experimental treatment never tested in humans in the Center for Hearing Research. The leader of the research Dr. Gene Kramer is pressed by the CIA agent Aiden Porter that is funding his experiment to test his vaccine of restoration of cells in fifteen patients, and he advises that the rats subjected to the experiment became psychotic. The patients also become psychotic and suicidal, with the exception of Liza, the patient 14. She achieves the ability of hearing frequencies emitted by the brain and read minds as a side effect. Porter recruits Liza to work in CIA disclosing the innermost thoughts of the suspects, but later Liza finds his real hidden intentions. / Liza Raines (Lucy Jenner), une secrtaire vince de son domicile, atteinte de surdit aprs avoir t tmoin d'une fusillade lors d'un vol, est dcouverte vivant dans son auto par Grant Kane, un travailleur social. Ce dernier l'amne alors dans un refuge de transition afin qu'elle soit rhabilite et l, elle accepte de se soumettre un traitement exprimental du Centre de recherche sur l'oue qui n'a jamais t test sur les humains. C'est la CIA qui finance la recherche du Dr. Gene Kramer. Lorsque ce dernier avise l'agent Aiden Porter, qui supervise le protocole de recherche que ses essais du vaccin de rgnration des cellules sur des rats de laboratoire les ont rendus psychotiques, Porter le somme tout de mme de continuer. Tous les patients soumis au nouveau traitement exprimental sombrent dans la psychose et prouvent des pulsions suicidaires, sauf Liza la patiente numro 14. Dans son cas, les effets secondaires du traitement sont bien diffrents : elle dveloppe la capacit d'entendre les frquences mises par le cerveau et peut donc lire dans les penses. Porter embauche Liza la CIA afin qu'elle puisse rvler les penses profondes des suspects lors des interrogatoires mais cette dernire ne tardera pas comprendre les intentions secrtes de l'agent.
