Songs Lost & Stolen is the third album from acclaimed Derbyshire singer Bella Hardy, and the first to feature all her own material. Her latest offering combines traditional styles and ballad forms that have always been at the centre of Hardy's work, with an added gift for poetry and Angela Carter-inspired twisted tales. The album showcases twelve original songs that range in subject matter from fairytales to English working class history, via childhood nostalgia, myths, murder and the human condition. Her first release on Navigator records, the home of folk heavy weights Bellowhead, Lau and Kris Drever. The album was produced by Mattie Foulds, a member of critically acclaimed collective the Burns Unit alongside the likes of King Creosote, Emma Pollock and Karine Polwart.
