Zach Condon and his band Beirut will release their fourth studio album No No No on 11th September 2015, their first world wide release for 4AD. Coming four years after The Rip Tide, and recorded over a two week period during one of the coldest New York winters - with blizzard after blizzard raging outside - No No No is Condon’s most vibrant and spirited record to date. The official video for title track 'No No No' has premiered. Directed by Brother Willis, it finds the 6-piece band performing on an American Bandstand type set with unexpected twists playing on the song’s title. “(No No No is) a jaunty, syncopated, playful tune with a simple yet anthemic melody. The horn arrangements bring depth to the song's spirited repetition. It's undeniably Beirut — and a joyfully welcome return.” – NPR “Zach Condon’s thoughtful, warm voice is still the driving force on this song, accompanied by brass flourishes and skittering percussion.” – Stereogum ”Exquisitely orchestrated masterpiece.” - Village Voice Artist & Album Information: Beirut main man Zach Condon recorded his debut album, Gulag Orkestar, when aged 18, after dropping out of college in Santa Fé, New Mexico and running away to live in Paris, France. Creating a unique international pop sound which spread like wildfire on the independent scene, he proved hugely influential among the musical community, finding fans as varied as Florence Welsh, Adele, Debbie Harry (Blondie), Ellie Goulding, David Byrne (Talking Heads), Vance Joy and George Ezra. Two more critically acclaimed albums followed - The Flying Club Cup and The Rip Tide - which cemented Beirut’s reputation as a musical trailblazer, selling a million records along the way. Whilst still a teenager, Zach led his Beirut band around the world, selling out multiple nights at legendary venues such as The Hammersmith Apollo and The Sydney Opera House and becoming a must-see band on the festival circuit with memorable performances at Glastonbury, Primavera and Coachella. Now in his 20’s, Zach has come home to the 4AD label where he launched his career to release a fourth Beirut album titled No No No (released September 11th). Recorded over a two-week period in New York amidst one of the city’s coldest and snowiest winters, it’s Condon’s most vibrant and spirited record to date. Unlike previous outings, the band set-up is significantly pared down with guitar, piano, bass and drums forming the bulk of arrangements. All songs recorded at Strange Weather, except ‘No No No’. Engineered by Griffin Rodriguez at Shape Shoppe West and Laurence Eaves at Dumbo Studio One. ‘At Once’ was engineered by Griffin Rodriguez at Shape Shoppe West. Mixed at Strange Weather by Gabe Wax and Zach Condon.
